EU Public Policy Communication Intern – Brussels 

Political Intelligence (PI) is looking for a Communication Intern to join our communication team and support our public affairs efforts with communication campaigns. The intern will assist in the development and management of communication projects contributing to our clients’ strategic goals.


  • Work with the team to implement communications strategies and digital projects
  • Draft long form and short form content, such as: articles for websites, newsletters, social media content, press releases/statements for media, etc.
  • Support in managing of website content and social media accounts
  • Support in creating and designing digital materials in line with the client brand identity
  • Support in event organisation for PI and its clients
  • Monitoring and reporting on communications activities for clients (eg. social media traction, media placements, etc.)
  • Manage database and mailing lists
  • Provide other administrative support (eg. minutes and reports)
  • General assistance to wider communications team on ad hoc projects

Your profile

  • You are a recent graduate or in final stages of your studies in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political or International Sciences or another related field, or you have equivalent professional experience
  • You have experience in international or non-profit organisations (eg. in the EU institutions, in-house, consultancy firm, etc.)
  • You have a good knowledge of the EU institutions and public policy

Your skills

  • You are a native speaker of Dutch or French and have a good to very good knowledge of the second national language and English
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are detail-oriented, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • You have knowledge of social media and website management
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of individuals
  • You enjoy being part of a team, working closely together with clients and colleagues

Practical Details

  • There will be an allowance of +/- 800 € per month
  • Full reimbursement of public transport
  • 1 day of vacation per month
  • Meal vouchers
  • The internship will ideally start as soon as possible for a period of 6 months
  • The office working languages are English, Dutch and French
