Turning twenty: Political Intelligence celebrates its 20th anniversary and predicts further growth ahead for the Public Affairs Industry

London, Friday 10th July, 2015 – Political Intelligence celebrated its 20th year in business yesterday at its anniversary party at the Eight Members Club in Central London. The specialist public affairs agency brought together its clients and colleagues (both past and present), as well as stakeholders across the industry sectors in which it works, to celebrate this significant milestone. Established in London back in 1995, Political Intelligence is now a company of over 35 consultants based in its three core offices of London, Brussels and Madrid. Combined with its other satellite offices and partners, it has true public affairs reach across all the major European markets, and most recently agreed a partnership with DHR Communications to cover activity in Ireland.

Group Managing Director, Nick Lansman stated “It’s been quite a journey, from just myself in a small room off Great Peter Street to a company offering multiple services across different countries. It’s been fantastic to see the company grow in that time, undertaking numerous ground breaking campaigns over the years that have not only helped our clients but also the industries in which they operate. It has also been intriguing to see our own industry mature dramatically over that time from a fairly ad hoc group of companies and individuals to a much more professionalised sector. It has been fantastic to be involved in this change and I firmly believe the industry can be proud of its development in that time. Whilst some companies have come and gone, I am proud of our longevity and am extremely positive about the future as public affairs continues to rise up the boardroom agenda of the businesses we meet.”

Historically, Political Intelligence has always had a strong heritage in the tech sector, with an emphasis on Internet, Telecoms and innovative technology clients. This continues today but the business has diversified significantly over time to include extensive experience in other industries including healthcare, energy, utilities and transport. It also has developed its network in recent years into wider communication areas with strategic partnerships with the likes of Hotwire PR.

Lansman who is also deputy chairman of the Association of Professional Political Consultants added “Whilst public affairs will always remain our focus, we recognise that our clients are increasingly looking for support across wider communication disciplines. With this in mind, we are keen to join forces with the best in breed and have enjoyed a new partnership with Hotwire PR in the past year. This has seen real developments with common clients, our London team sharing the same office and greater collaboration on a variety of projects. We look forward to developing this partnership and other relationships further across the group as a means to support our clients as effectively as possible and to help steer the company to the next level of growth in the years ahead.”
