PI provides political support to utility companies in the energy, water and telecommunications sectors. Clients we have worked for include the major utility and energy trade associations representing all the key utility companies and many of their contractors, as well as individual companies. The services we offer range from the provision of strategic political advice and intelligence, through to delivery of effective stakeholder engagement programmes, event management and secretariat services.

Case study

PI has provided specialist public affairs, public relations and secretariat services to the National Joint Utilities Group, the UK’s only trade association representing utilities in street works matters, since 2003. Through ongoing engagement with Government Departments, the CBI, Better Regulation Executive, Better Regulation Commission, National Audit Office and independent academics, NJUG has been able to reduce utility costs (by many millions of pounds), achieve fairer, more practicable and workable regulations and enhance utility companies’ reputations. One particular success was the lobbying undertaken around the 2004 Traffic Management Act which resulted in major concessions and commitments both during the Bill’s passage through Parliament and in subsequent Regulations.
