This afternoon the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP, delivered the first Conservative Budget since November 1996. Osborne’s speech featured a plethora of policy announcements, including tough talk on and cuts to benefits, a series of tax cuts, raising of the taxfree personal allowance, a new “National Living Wage” and an audacious move in to the politics of ‘One Nation’.
